In 1995, JSC Siberian Oil Company (JSC Sibneft) was established by decree of the President of the Russian Federation. Acting as the Company´s founder, the Government transferred its stake in the country's biggest oil industry enterprises (JSC Noyabrskneftegaz, JSC Noyabrskneftegazgeofizika, JSC Omsk Refinery and JSC Omsknefteproduct) to the authorised capital of the holding. In 2005, the controlling interest in JSC Sibneft was acquired the Gazprom Group. Later on, on 13 May 2006, the Company's name was changed to Open Joint-Stock Company Gazprom Neft. Gazprom Neft is the largest company of the Gazprom Group and the Russian oil industry leader in terms of production efficiency. The key areas of the Company's operations involve oil and gas production, oil and gas field service, oil refining and oil product sales. Gazprom Neft is one of the top five Russian oil companies. Gazprom Neft is actively engaged in the development of its own distribution network of filling stations where development plans are based on global experience and comply with the world-wide market trends, which include improving flexibility and broadening the range of services offered at filling stations. A priority line of business for the Company is the organization of a convenient and efficient system for cashless payment for oil products at filling stations using the Gazprom Neft fuel card. Today, the Company has more than one thousand corporate customers.
